NSW SQID Taskforce Kicks Off with First Meeting

The newly formed NSW SQID Taskforce held its first meeting on January 23, 2025, marking a significant step towards improving the SQID (Stormwater Quality Improvement Device) process in NSW.

Taskforce Purpose

The Taskforce was formed in response to industry concerns about gaps and inconsistencies in the current SQIDEP process. The primary goal is to develop recommendations to improve the process and increase industry confidence in SQID approvals, leading to greater adoption of effective stormwater quality improvement devices.

Identifying Issues and Concerns 

The committee discussed industry concerns, including consultation, transparency, and the need for clear outcomes.

Defining Roles and Responsibilities

The committee clarified its role as overseeing the project, while the two subcommittees (Performance Assessment and Lifecycle) will focus on specific areas of improvement.

Planning for the Upcoming Workshop

The committee discussed the agenda for the workshop on February 13, 2025, which will include an overview of SQID, industry feedback, and subcommittee breakouts.

A pre-event survey will be conducted to gather industry feedback and inform the workshop discussions

The Taskforce is now focused on preparing for the February 13 workshop. The subcommittees will develop plans and identify key areas for improvement, and the pre-event survey will be distributed to gather industry input.
