Dear Taskforce Members,
It’s been a productive few weeks since our workshop, and we are now moving into the core work of the taskforce. Last week, the committee convened to review the workshop outcomes and both subcommittee’s meet.
Workshop Review and Outcomes:
· A draft version of the consultant’s report was issued last week via the subcommittees. If you have any feedback, please provide it back to me.
· An updated version of the workshop presentation and draft report will be posted on the portal.
Subcommittee Meetings and Progress:
· Meetings of both subcommittees occurred last week.
· Subcommittee Chair’s Kristy and Kefeng have appointed Task Leaders and together they are bringing together the outcomes of the meeting to produce a deliverables list and resourcing requirements.
Project Planning and Communication:
· The workshop draft report and feedback from the subcommittees will be collated into a project plan.
· A communication plan is also being developed and will be issued over the next couple of weeks.
Resource Management and Support:
· Task leaders should identify specific resource needs and pass them onto your Subcommittee Chairs.
· These will be collated in the project plan and resources identified as needed.
· We do have many resources available, including survey and research support.
· If you have spare resources that you can make available, please let one of the committee members know so we can share resources as needed.
· We are currently developing standard report documents and presentations to ensure we keep a common brand.
Industry Consultation:
· It is crucial to coordinate industry consultation activities to avoid multiple requests throughout the year. Coordinated communication and feedback requests are preferred, potentially once a month.
· If early industry engagement is needed, please set a task to discuss this with your Subcommittee Chair by 31 March at the latest, including the nature of the engagement and the questions you want to ask.
· As an example, Andrew and I are meeting with IPWEA on the 2 April, and we are in conversations with the NSW Water Directorate.
Collation of Reports and Other Works:
· Research papers and previous submissions have begun to be collated on the OneDrive. They will also be listed on the portal. For members the One Drive location is as follows. Research and Papers
Attendance and Involvement:
· As discussed prior to the formation of the taskforce and at the workshop, member commitment is essential.
· We have had instances of members not attending the workshop, some with notice and some without. A member who did not attend twice without discussion has been removed from the taskforce.
· Please advise your subcommittee leader prior to a meeting if you cannot attend.
· Two consecutive instances of non-attendance without a prior apology will be considered your resignation from the taskforce.
Stormwater NSW franc.2025 Conference, 15 – 16 October 2025
· The Stormwater Franc.2025 Conference is going to be held on 15-16 October in the Hunter Valley.
· We are looking to have both presentations and or maybe a workshop on the outcomes of the SQID Taskforce.
· We will be asking the subcommittees for ideas on what we can commit to.
· It does give us a good target date to bring our outcomes back to the industry.
