Dear Industry Stakeholders,
We’re pleased to provide you with an update on the progress of the NSW SQID Taskforce as of May 2025.
The Taskforce has been actively working on developing and advancing the Stormwater Quality Improvement Devices (SQID) project. We have several key achievements to share:
Recent Progress:
- Project Plan: The project plan has been completed and released. It is attached for your information.
- Task Progress: Significant progress has been made with 34 out of 188 tasks completed.
- Project Support: Colan Chin has been appointed as Project Officer to support our Project Manager – Christine Del Duca.
- Deliverable Completion: The Deliverable “Detailed review of current assessing methods from the SQIDEP and map out current issues with SQIDEP from previous feedback” has been completed, and a summary report is in progress.
- Industry Engagement: Survey 1 was released to gather industry input; the data is currently being collated.
- Meetings have also been held with IPWEA and other peak bodies to foster collaboration.
Upcoming Activities:
In the coming month, the Taskforce will be focusing on:
- Further Surveys: New surveys will be developed to gather additional industry insights.
- FRANC Submissions: Abstracts will be prepared for the upcoming FRANC event.
- Project Management Tool: MS Planner is being launched for group leads to streamline task management.
- SQID Asset Definition: Defining SQID assets for the industry.
- Safety Criteria: Developing methods for assessing safety criteria and collating proposed minimum safety standards.
- Lifecycle Assessment: Completing draft lifecycle assessment criteria.
- International Protocol Analysis: Conducting an analysis of International Protocols.
