Dear Stakeholders,
The Taskforce has made significant progress over the past month on the SQID project, and we thank all those involved for their efforts.
Overall Progress:
The group has successfully advanced critical deliverables, including drafting guides, rating systems, and review papers, with several moving into the recommendations phase. While some tasks are pending final reviews and industry feedback, momentum has been strong. The current focus is on consolidating collected information to develop clear recommendations and a comprehensive report for industry feedback.
Key Achievements and Progress in the Past Month:
- Deliverable 2: Lifecycle Cost Assessment: Criteria and methodology progressed, with recommendations nearing completion. Draft documents are ready for peer review.
- Deliverable 3: Buildability and Operational Sustainability Assessment: Literature review and gap analysis are delayed. PMO intervention is supporting progress on constructability templates, which will be a focus in August.
- Deliverable 4: Safety Assessment: Draft product evaluation and safety rating is under review. Framework and methodology development continues, with minimum safety standards drafted. An industry workshop was held, and a focus group is planned for late August.
- Deliverable 5: NSW Endorsement of SQIDs: Research into existing endorsement processes is complete. Green Star rating identified as a suitable guide. A draft Governance framework is under review, with a risk assessment meeting planned for August to finalise it. This will slightly delay draft recommendations by one week.
